How to Join a Gang in Fallout: New Vegas

"Fallout 3: New Vegas" has two groups (sometimes called "gangs") you can join if you want to be affiliated with them. It's not difficult to align yourself with a group from the start of the game, but as time goes on, you will have more difficulty because these gangs are often enemies. Making a choice which gang you want to join at the start of the game is much easier than trying to change your mind later on because you will eventually reach a point where you will not be allowed to change your mind and join the opposing group.

     Speak with every member of the NCR or the Legion (the two groups in New Vegas) that you see, as many seemingly minor characters can give you quests that will boost your reputation with the gang.

     Do not shoot members of the gang you want to join. Instead, shoot or otherwise attack members of the enemy gang to raise your reputation with the gang you want to join.

     Follow the main quest of the game, which opens up opportunities to perform work for both of the two groups in the game and choose which gang you want to work for.
