How to Sprint in Mercenaries 2 for PS2

Mercenaries 2 is a free-form, open world game for the PS2 video game console where you play as one of four different mercenaries tasked with helping to free a tropical island from its dictator through any means possible. One of the features of the game is the ability for you to sprint for short distances, which is useful when you want to quickly approach enemies or you want to get away quickly.

     Move your character to an open section of the game screen.

     Move the left analog stick forward and then depress it until it clicks to cause your character to sprint until you release the stick.
