How to Get Back the Baby the Butler Stole in The Sims 2

"The Sims2 Apartment Life" expansion allows you to hire a butler for your house. The game contains a bug that sometimes causes the butler to take the family baby away. In this case, the butler picks up the family baby right before his work day is over and leaves the house, taking the baby with him. When this happens, you can get your baby back by exiting the game without saving and returning to your Sim household.

Instructions

  Press the P key on your keyboard as soon as you become aware of the butler taking the Sim baby off of your lot.

  Click the "Option" button, which looks like a button with the three dots in the bottom left corner of the game screen. A new menu will appear.

  Click the "Neighborhood" button, which looks like a button with a group of houses on it.

  Click "No" when the game prompts you to save. It is important that you do not save your game. This will send you back to the Neighborhood screen.

  Click on your Sim house, then click the "Enter Lot" button. You will return to your lot at the time of your last save, which will be before the butler steals your baby.
