How to Make Allies Happy in Dragon Age: Origins

Each of your allies in the "Dragon Age: Origins" role-playing video game has a unique personality. Keeping your allies happy will grant them a bonus to their primary statistic; on the other hand, if your allies are unhappy with you, they may permanently leave your group. To keep your allies happy, consider their preferences carefully when selecting dialogue options and give each of them appropriate gifts.

Choose dialogue options your current group members will agree with during conversations. Consider your group members' personalities to figure out what their reactions will be. For example, a good character, such as Alistair or Leliana, may disapprove of you siding with a dishonest person or killing somebody to resolve an issue, while a pragmatic character, such as Sten, or a ruthless character, such as Morrigan, may approve of the same action.

Explore the game world and obtain gift items. Give these to your allies. Each ally has a preference for a specific type of gift; you may also be able to find special, plot-related gifts for some allies.

    • 3

Purchase the "Feastday Gifts" game add-on for $2, at the time of publication. This add-on provides an additional gift for each of your allies; these gifts will increase each ally's approval rating by 50.
