How to Heal Gear From Spell Damage in World of Warcraft

Armor, or gear, in World of Warcraft (WoW) has a durability attribute, which determines how much damage a piece of gear can take before it's broken. If a piece of gear breaks, it's no longer usable for as long as it remains unrepaired. Non-playable characters (NPCs) can fix gear that has been damaged or broken. Each hit taken by spell damage in WoW has a chance of reducing your armor durability by 1, and dying as the result of spell damage reduces armor durability by 10 percent. To heal gear from spell damage, find an armor or weapon seller in one of game's cities or towns.

Instructions

    • 1

Press "M" to open the map. Search the map for a capital city. Horde players should look for Orgimmar, Thunder Bluff, Undercity, Silvermoon City or Bilgewater Port. Alliance players should look for Darnassus, Ironforge, Stormwind City, The Exodar or Gilneas. If you can't find a capital city on the map you're on, look for a hut, which indicates a small town.

Follow the path on the map to go to the town or city. Be careful when approaching a town since it may be ruled by a hostile faction. As you near the entrance, click the NPC closest to you. If the character is colored yellow or green, it's safe to enter the town.

Browse the town for an armor or weapon seller or a blacksmithing supplier. Click the NPC, then select the hammer icon to repair gear damaged from spells.
