How to Make a Colored Name in Defense of the Ancients

"Defense of the Ancients" is a user-created scenario for Blizzard's PC game "Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos." It is also playable with the "Warcraft III" expansion "The Frozen Throne." It is a customized map that can be played in either multiplayer or single-player modes. When playing "Defense of the Ancients," you will appear with the name you chose for your "Warcraft III" profile. You will need to create a new profile to change the color of this name. You can customize this name to display any color you want.

Instructions

  Open the HTML Color Wheel in your Web browser (see Resources). Move your mouse cursor over the wheel of colors until you are hovering over your desired color. Click and highlight the six-characters of text that appear on the left-hand side of the webpage. They are on a background matching the color you selected. Press "CTRL" and "C" to copy this text.

  Launch "Warcraft III" and create a new profile. Type in the following characters "|c00". Make the vertical line by holding "shift" and pressing the "\" button.

  Paste the color code by pressing "CTRL" and "v."

  Type in the desired name for your profile. Click the "Create" button to save your new color-themed profile.
