How to Build Your Own Flight Controls for a Flight Simulator

There are a number of flight simulator video games available, specifically for the PC, and nearly all of them allow you to customize the controls of your plane in some way. You can format the controls in a way that is more comfortable to you. Each game has its own method for customizing each controls, but most games, including flight simulators, follow the same basic template for customizing controls.

  Start the flight simulator you want to edit the controls. By default, the game should boot to its main menu.

  Click "Settings" or "Options" from the main menu. A further list of options with either be listed or in tabs.

  Click "Controls" from the listed options. All of the game's controls will be displayed.

  Click on the control you want to change. The box will become highlighted.
- 5
  Press the key you want to change the button to. The action will then be assigned to the button you pressed. Repeat Steps 4 and 5 as necessary to completely customize your control scheme.
