Uninstall and Reinstall Without Video
Click "Start" and "Control Panel." Select "Uninstall a Program" and scroll to find "Diablo II" in the list. Click on it, then click "Uninstall" from the options above the list of programs. Wait for "Diablo II" to finish uninstalling.
Insert the first install disc and follow the onscreen instructions. When presented with the option to install the game as "Single Player," "Multi-Player" or "Full Installation," choose either the "Single Player" or "Multi-Player" options.
Run "Diablo II." When you get to a cutscene point in the game, you are prompted to insert the video disc. Click "Cancel" or press "Esc" on the keyboard to skip the cutscene.
Run in Windowed Mode
Find the shortcut for "Diablo II: Lord of Destruction" on your desktop or your Start menu if you don't have a desktop icon. Windowed Mode is only available for the "Diablo II" expansion called "Diablo II: Lord of Destruction."
Right-click the shortcut and select "Properties." A box labeled "Target" with the location of "Diablo II" appears on your computer's hard drive.
Type a space and then "-w" at the end of the text in the Target box. Click "OK" and open "Diablo II: Lord of Destruction." It plays inside a window on your computer, automatically skipping the cutscenes.
