How to Easily Get Eggs in Minecraft

"Minecraft" focuses on digging mineshafts, clear-cutting forests, crafting tools and killing undead monsters. However, the player can also bake cakes and manage a farm, if he prefers. Of the game's three farm animals, the chicken is one of the most random, as the other animals produce a predictable amount of milk and ham. In contrast, chickens lay their eggs erratically. The only surefire way to amass a lot of them with ease is to capture a lot of chickens and keep them in a pen.

  Obtain a shovel or pickaxe. If you don't have one, use your bare hands. Attack the ground to dig a hole. Dig straight down until the hole is at least five blocks deep. This is the beginning of your pit trap.

  Widen the hole to be at least a three-by-three grid. The larger it is, the more chickens you'll catch.

  Exit the hole and wait for chickens to fall into it. Over time, dozens can be captured.

  Jump into the hole and take the eggs. If you don't need them immediately, throw them at the ground. There is a 25-percent chance of a new chicken hatching, meaning you'll get even more eggs.
