How to Make Armor Mods in Oblivion

"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion," also known as "Oblivion," is a role-playing video game in which players take control of a customized character to complete a variety of quests throughout the game. This character can be equipped with different forms of weapons, armors and other items. During the game, players will have to modify the available armor to make it stronger and offer more protection for their character. This process, called enchanting, offers a number of benefits to help make your character a more formidable opponent.

  Begin a new game of "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion." Select the name, gender and fighting style of your character. The selections that you pick will determine your character's abilities at the start of the game along with what types of weapons and armor they can use. For example, mages are not able to use swords or wear the heavy armor sets of the warrior class.

  Gain access to the Arcane University by either getting all the mage recommendations by completing tasks from the Mage's Guild or purchase the Wizard's Tower upgrade which will allow you to use spellmaking and enchanting altars.

  Enter the Arcane University and approach one of the altars of enchanting.

  Select the soul gem that you want to use from your inventory. Each type of soul gem offers a different type of ability that can be used to modify the different type of armor pieces. For example, the elemental soul gems offer protection to damage from elemental attacks that are used against your character.

  Select the armor piece that you wish to enchant. The pieces that are available to enchant will appear in the menu listing.

  Select the affect that you want to use to modify your armor piece. You can pick only one type of enchantment per armor piece so be sure that you select the enchantment that offers the exact type of effect that is needed.

  Pay the required fee to complete the enchantment process. The armor will immediately be modified with the selected effect.
