How to Make High Spray Textures in CSS

Making and importing high-resolution sprays into the multi-player video game, "Counter-Strike: Source," or CSS, allows you to use the spray function in the game. The spray function lets players apply a personalized picture on the walls of the map their team is currently playing on. To create a high-resolution spray picture, you can use Paint, the native Windows graphics editing tool.

Instructions

    • 1

Create a new picture in Paint.

    • 2

Resize your picture so that it is 256 pixels high and 256 pixels wide. While "Counter-Strike: Source" allows you to use smaller pictures, a 256-by-256 picture will have a higher resolution. To do this, click on the Resize button in the toolbar. Deselect "Maintain aspect ratio" and click on Pixels. Type "256" in both the height and width fields. Click on "OK."

    • 3

Create your spray by using the Text, Shapes or Colors tools, which you can find in the main toolbar. Use the Text tool by clicking anywhere in the picture and typing text in it. You can use the Shapes and Colors tools by clicking on one of the shapes in the toolbar, inserting it into the spray by clicking-and-dragging inside the image, and clicking on the Colors tool to fill that shape with a color. You can select the color by clicking on the color selector icon in the toolbar.

Save your spray as a JPG file. Click on the main Paint menu, select "Save as" and click on "JPG file." Name your file and click on "Save."

    • 5

Import your spray into "Counter-Strike: Source" by clicking on Options in the game's main menu, selecting the Multiplayer tab and clicking on "Import spray." Use the file browser to locate the file you created and click on Open.
