Things You'll Need
Instructions
Click "Start" and then "My Computer." Navigate to your "RPG Maker XP" installation folder and double-click.
Double-click on the "PokeStarter" folder.
Double-click on the "Graphics" folder. Inside the "Graphics" folder are 14 folders. You will be working with "Battlers" and "Icons."
Double-click the "Battlers" folder. Here you will find images of 493 Pokemon. There are four different images for each of the 493 Pokemon: Front view, back view, front view in bright light to denote the character is selected, and back view in bright light to denote the character is selected. All images show the Pokemon facing to the left.
Scroll through the Pokemon images and find the Pokemon you want to replace with a Digimon. Choose a Pokemon whose powers and moves are equivalent to Digimon replacement. Take note of the file names of the four images for the Pokemon you want to replace. For example, if you want to replace the Pokemon Venusaur with the Digimon ElDradimon, you would take note of the four Venusaur image file names: "003.png" (front view), "003b.png" (back view), "003s.png" (front view selected) and "003sb.png" (back view selected).
Navigate to the folder containing your Digimon sprites. Digimon sprites can be ripped from a game or ROM that you own, or downloaded from Digimon forums or images searches on the Internet. Locate the Digimon you want in your game and rename the files to match the Pokemon file names that you want to replace. For example, locate a sprite of ElDradimon facing forward, right-click on the image, select "Rename," and type "003.png." Rename a sprite of ElDradimon, back view, "003b.png," a sprite of ElDradimon, front view selected, "003s.png," and a sprite of ElDradimon, back view selected, "003sb.png."
Hold down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard and click on the four files you renamed. This will select them. Still holding down the "Ctrl" key, press the "C" key to copy the files.
Navigate back to the "Battlers" folder. Press "Ctrl" and "V" at the same time to paste the renamed files into the "Battlers" folder. A message will appear asking if you want to replace the existing files. Confirm by clicking "Yes." Those four Pokemon images are now changed to Digimon images.
Navigate to the "Icons" folder. Double-click the "Icons" folder. Locate the Pokemon you just replaced with a Digimon in the "Battlers" folder. There will be only one image. For example, locate the Venusaur image, "icon003.png." Take note of the name.
Return to your folder of Digimon sprites. Rename an icon of the Digimon you want in your game with the file name of the Pokemon it is replacing. For example, rename an image of an icon of ElDradimon, "icon003.png." Then press "Ctrl" and "C" to copy the image.
Navigate back to the "Icons" folder and press "Ctrl" and "V" at the same time to paste the renamed icon image. Click "Yes" when asked if you want to overwrite the existing file. You have now successfully replaced a Pokemon with a Digimon. When you next open your game file in "RPG Maker XP," the Digimon will appear.
