How to Alter a Hammer Face

In 2006, Valve released the source code to its own video games built on the Source Engine, allowing others to develop their own mods. This is known as the Source SDK, which comes bundled with various development programs, including Hammer. In Hammer, you can create maps from scratch and model your own characters' faces. Before you can alter faces, however, you must know how to load the program and begin a new model.

     Double-click the Steam icon on your desktop.

     Log in to your Steam account. Wait a few minutes for the program to load.

     Click "Library," followed by "Tools."

     Double-click "Source SDK," followed by "Face Poser." Wait a few moments for the program to load.

     Modify the face as desired. There are hundreds of different options you can choose to create thousands of different faces.
