How to Get String in Minecraft Without Killing Spiders

String is an essential material in "Minecraft." It is used to make wool, fishing rods and bows. Killing spiders is the only way to obtain string. For the many players who choose to play Minecraft on peaceful mode this can be a problem. Spiders and other monsters do not spawn on peaceful mode, eliminating the only way to get string. To get string without killing spiders requires installing a mod or having operator privileges on a multiplayer server.

  Download ModLoader, ScotTools and Peaceful Pack. These first two mods prevent errors between the mod interface and the Minecraft client, and are required to run Peaceful Pack.

  Open the Run command and type in "%appdata%/.minecraft". Open the bin folder and locate "Minecraft.jar."

  Open Minecraft.jar with WinRAR or 7zip.

  Copy all of the files in the RAR archives of ModLoader, ScotTools and Peaceful Pack and paste them into Minecraft.jar.

  Delete the "META-INF" folder.

  Run Minecraft and the mod will be active.

  Find flax plants growing in your world and harvest them. You will collect "Flax Fibres." Two flax fibers can be crafted into one string.
