How to Make a Cactus Farm on Minecraft

A cactus is one of the few plants that players can grow in the video game "Minecraft." t can only grow on sand blocks and it is a staple of the desert biome landscape. Any creature that touches a cactus block takes damage, so they are popular as a way to kill spiders in mob grinders. When placed in the furnace, a cactus turns into a green dye that is used for several shades of colored wool. Since a cactus cannot touch any blocks besides the sand below it, there is a simple method of harvesting it.

Instructions

    • 1

Find a flat strip of land that is seven blocks long and three blocks wide. Build a wall three blocks high around it.

    • 2

Place water in the back corner of the room.

    • 3

Place three sand blocks in the middle row. There needs to be one block of space between the sand blocks so the water current travels between them.

    • 4

Place cactus on each of the sand blocks.

    • 5

Place a row of blocks along the side of the wall. When the cactus grows, it will come in contact with the side of these blocks, which will cause it to fall off.

    • 6

Stand where the water flow ends, and the cactus will be delivered straight to you.
