How to Acquire a Ship in The Curse of Monkey Island?

"The Curse of Monkey Island," an adventure game released in 1997, is the third game in the "Monkey Island" series. Your character is an aspiring pirate who needs to lift a curse from the love of his life, Elaine. During your travels you explore new lands, meet interesting characters and battle mysterious pirates. As you progress through the game, you will need to solve puzzles to obtain valuables -- like a ship.

Instructions

Obtain Three Crew Members

  Talk to Haggis in the barber shop, and then defeat him in a match of caber toss to gain him as the first crew member.

  Use the glove on Edward Van Helgen in the barber shop. When he challenges you to a duel, choose the banjo as your weapon. Mimic whatever Edward Van Helgen plays on his banjo, and then shoot his banjo with your pistol to gain him as your second crew member.

  Show the gold tooth to Cutthroat Bill in the barber shop to add him as your third and final crew member.
Acquire the Ship

  Travel to Danjer Cove and attempt to use the boat. The game will inform you of a hole in the boat that needs to be repaired.

  Travel back to the caber toss area in Puerto Pollo and locate the section with the rubber trees.

  Use the biscuit cutter on the second rubber tree to obtain a rubber plug.
- 7
  Combine the rubber plug with paste to form a sticky rubber plug.
- 8
  Travel back to Danjer Cove and use the sticky rubber plug to repair the hole in the boat. Click the boat to board it.
