How to Change the Bot File in Urban Terror

"Urban Terror" is an online first-person shooter for the PC that specializes in player-versus-player combat. Although, the game does allow you to manually insert bots into any match, one bot at a time. The bots follow a generic template that can be manipulated to make them more aggressive or even start with different weapons. To make changes to the bot file, you must open it with a basic text-editing program.

Instructions

  Navigate to your "Urban Terror" directory. This folder can be located in a variety of places, depending on where you installed it, but the default file path is "C:\Program Files\Urban Terror."

  Right-click on the "bot.cfg" file. A list of options will expand.

  Hover over "Open with..." and click "Notepad." The file's text will then be displayed allowing you to change the file.

  Make any changes you want to the file. You must make changes that the game's code can understand and interpret, which means you mostly will be turning features on and off by denoting the action with a "1" or "0," respectively.

  Save the file and close "Notepad." The bots will have the changes you made, the next time you start the game.
