How to Install a Supermod for Age of Pirates

"Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales" is a 2006 pirate-themed role-playing game for PC. You can play as a male or female character and are free to explore the gameworld on foot or by ship. Unfortunately, the game contains a few bugs that make it unstable and crashes are frequent. The so-called "Supermod" is a fan-released patch for the game that fixes many of the crashes and bugs that the developers have not addressed. The patch also adds new ships and features to the game.

Instructions

  Uninstall your copy of "Age of Pirates" if it is already installed on your system and reboot your PC. Supermod cannot be installed over a previously patched version of the game, and you have to start a new game after installing the mod.

  Install your copy of "Age of Pirates" but do not apply any patches to it. Navigate to the Gamefront website and click the "Download Now" button.

  Click "Save File" and wait for the download to complete. It is a 530 MB file, so depending on your connection speed it can take a while to finish.

  Double-click the file after the download is complete. Specify the location where your copy of the game is installed when prompted for an installation directory. The patch will install automatically and be applied to the game.

  Start the game and begin a new game to make use of the Supermod features.
