"Spore" is a comprehensive life simulation game. You start as a single-celled organism, but over the course of the game you evolve into a space-faring civilization. Once you enter the intergalactic mode, your various space colonies can come under attack from pirate raiders and collapse from eco-disasters. Once an eco-disaster has started, it's your responsibility to track down the infected lifeforms and eradicate them. The longer they live, the more you have to kill. Since you'll already be a spaceship at this point, finding and killing individual animals is fairly straightforward.
