How to Host a Game in DotaCash

"Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne" is real-time strategy game that, in addition to the full game, includes a world creator that allows players to create and share their own maps. One of the most popular maps for the game is "Defense of the Ancients," which pits two warring factions against each other in a player-versus-player match. The online game "DotaCash" is a spin-off of the map for "Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne," but it includes a multitude of features that would be impossible to create in the world editor for "Warcraft III."

    • 1

Download the "DotaCash" game client for free from the game's official website (see Resources).

    • 2

Start "Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne." Even though "DotaCash" has its own client, it still uses many components of the "Warcraft III" engine, which means you will have to run the program any time you want to play the game.

    • 3

Minimize "Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne" by pressing "Alt" and "Tab." You will be brought back to your computer's desktop.

    • 4

Start the "DotaCash" game client. The game's log in screen will appear.

    • 5

Type the username and password of your DotaCash account and click "Login." The game's hub will appear, which is very similar to the "Battle.net" hub in "Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne" in appearance and function.

    • 6

Click "Create" at the bottom-right of the screen. A list of options relating to your game will appear.

    • 7

Type the name of your desired game and click "Host" to begin hosting the game. You will be taken to a lobby where other players can join your game. Once you are ready, click "Start" to begin the match.
