How to Use the Drafting Table in The Sims 3: Ambitions

"The Sims 3: Ambitions" is an expansion pack for "The Sims 3," released in 2010. "Ambitions" allows players to become "fearless heroes and ace entrepreneurs," giving it a more career-oriented approach than previously seen in other Sims games. Your character can choose various career paths, including training to be an architectural designer, a ghost hunter, an investigator, a firefighter and a stylist, among others. Certain occupation-related items factor heavily in the honing of certain job skills, and the drafting table is one such item. Your character can use the drafting table for painting and drawing architecture and fashion designs.

Instructions

  Purchase the drafting table from the section of the game labeled "Hobbies and Entertainment."

  Place the Drafter's Companion stool in front of the drafting table. Verify that you've got the stool properly positioned by moving the drafting table from one place in your house to another. If the stool moves along with the drafting table, it is in the correct spot. Not placing the stool in front of the drafting table will render your drafting table unusable.

  Click on the drafting table. Three options should avail themselves to you. You can practice painting, practice interior design or practice styling. All of these options serve to build your character's skill in her chosen profession while not at work, thus giving your character more work experience.
