How to Make Layered Minecraft Skins

The world exploration game "MineCraft" allows players to edit their character appearance to fit their personality. One popular model edit is to add hats or sunglasses, which require a second layer over the base character model. By using a simple "MineCraft" skin editing software, any "MineCraft" player can benefit from multiple layers and give their character models clothing or armor.

Instructions

    • 1

      Run SkinEdit.

    • 2

Create a new skin by selecting "New" in the upper left corner.

    • 3

Paint the specifics of the new skin by filling in colors as they correspond to the boxes in the SkinEdit layout. For example, the "Face" box is the plane that shows the character's face, whereas the "Left" box just next to "Face" is the plane that shows the left side of the character's face.

    • 4

Paint the image of a hat, armor, sunglasses, or other headwear in the "Hat" box to create a second layer. Headwear is the only extra layer of clothing that can be added to a "MineCraft" character model.

    • 5

      Save your character model.
