How to Lower Rank in StarCraft

"StarCraft" and its hardcore, real-time, strategy gameplay isn't for everyone. To effectively and consistently beat your opponent, you need quick reflexes, a knack for changing strategy on the fly and the courage to press on with your attack. During your first five matches, your win/loss ratio determines your ranking. New players typically end up in copper or bronze league, but players who win more than one or two matches during the initial five may end up in higher leagues, which consist of better players. To lower your rank, you can simply surrender and hand the victory to your opponent.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch the game, sign in to your account and click "Multiplayer" to activate the multiplayer interface. Ranks increase and decrease from multiplayer games only. Single-player games have no effect on your ranking.

    • 2

Choose "1v1," select your race and click "Find Game." Once the match-making system finds an appropriately ranked opponent, the game will begin.

    • 3

Click "Menu" once the game starts or press "F10." Click "Surrender." The game will end, with your opponent as the victor. The score screen will appear. The number of ranking points you lose will appear in the right corner of the screen. Surrender 20 to 30 matches and you will likely see a drop in your ranking. If you're barely ranked for a league, surrendering two or three times may be enough to drop you to the next league down.
