How to Install Mods for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl

"S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl" is a first person shooter (FPS) video game for PCs that places you in a futuristic disaster scenario at the site of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. This game has proven popular enough that some individuals have developed modifications for it (called "mods") that add to and change the gameplay. You can install these mods by simply dropping them into a specific folder of the game.

  Open Windows Explorer.

  Navigate to the folder that contains the mod that you want to install.

  Right-click on the mod folder and click "Copy."

  Navigate to the "C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Stalker\gamedata" folder.

  Right-click in an empty portion of the folder and then click "Paste."

  Start the Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl game and click on the "Mods" button on the main menu, check the box next to the mod you installed and then click "OK" to activate it.
