How to Run Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway Optimally

"Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway" is a first person shooter based on World War II. The PC version of the game lets players adjust graphics settings to suit their PC; if you've got a lower-end computer, you can lower various aspects of the games graphical quality to make up for your PC's lack of strong hardware. By lowering all the settings and raising them one at a time, you'll find the optimal settings for the game on your computer.

Instructions

    • 1

Close any open applications so your computer's resources can focus on running "Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway" instead of open programs you're not using while playing. Launch "Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway" through the icon you usually use to start the game.

    • 2

Select "Options" from the main menu and choose "Video." Turn the "Vsync" option off by pressing one of the arrow symbols next to the setting. Set the "Texture Quality," "Shadow Texture Quality" and "Shadow Detail" to their lowest settings.

    • 3

Click "Apply" and return to the main menu. Start your game and note how well it runs with these stripped back graphics settings. After testing game play for a few minutes, return to the "Video" options screen and raise "Texture Quality" and both shadow settings by one increment each.

    • 4

Return to your game and see if it's still performing as well as it did with the lowest settings. If so, raise each setting by one more increment. Continue doing this until you notice performance slowing down. When performance begins to fall, go back to the "Video" menu and return the settings to the last values that allowed the game to run smoothly.
