Levels
Warsong Gulch organizes faction groups by level bracket. The first level bracket is from level 10 to 14. WoWWiki.com recommends joining Warsong Gulch battles when you're at the highest level of this bracket. For example, level 14 players have more spells and hit points than players under level 14. When they enter a Warsong Gulch battle with players under level 14, they can kill the lower-level players faster.
Groups
Travel in groups containing a healer. Healers can heal you while your group is being attacked, reducing the likelihood you will die. Groups also deal more damage against enemies than individual players. Also travel in a group containing a healer if you're trying to capture the opposing faction's flag. The opposing faction can cast spells to slow down or immobilize you, which healers can dispell.
Hunter Abilities
Hunters can prevent opposing faction members from stealing their faction flag. For example, a freezing trap freezes anybody who steps on it. If you put this trap on your flag, it freezes anyone who tries to steal it, preventing the person from moving. This allows your group members enough time to run over to the flag and kill the opposing faction member. In addition, hunters can lay a frost trap on the flag. Frost traps temporarily slow down the movement speed of anyone who steps on it.
Chat Box
Use the chat box to warn other group members of the opposing faction members' locations and incoming attacks. For example, if an opposing faction member is approaching your faction's base, type a warning in the chat box. Other group members will see the warning instantly and return to the base to defend it. In battlegrounds, World of Warcraft players just use the term "inc" as a warning. This is a shortened form of incoming. Other terms players use include "fr," "fc" and "efc." These terms stand for flag room, flag carrier and enemy flag carrier.
Additional Terms
In the chat box, World of Warcraft players can use additional terms to direct other players to certain areas in Warsong Gulch. The term "gy" stands for graveyard, where killed players are revived. The term "roof" describes the area above the flag room of either faction. "Tun," short for tunnel, describes the tunnel that leads in and out of either faction's base. "Ramp" is the sloped area near the graveyard.
