Be patient. "Bejeweled Twist," unlike past versions of "Bejeweled," does not have a time limit in its Challenge Mode. Therefore, feel free to take as much time as you need to think about how each move will affect the entire board. The ability to plan is more crucial than quick action or muscle memory, so use your time to study the game board and all possible moves.
Plan your actions at least three moves ahead at all times. Each successful match will shift the game board, enabling new matches. Use your time to predict how your next move will affect possible future matches. Preferably, you want to have several match-ups available at all times, so make sure your next move will allow gems to fall in favorable positions.
Prioritize gem matches at the bottom instead of matches at the top. When given the option, always match and eliminate gems at the bottom of the game board, since this will change the entire board more dynamically and enable more possible combinations. Matches at the bottom can change as much as 80 percent of the board, whereas matches at the top may only change about 10 percent.
Save your Power Gems for desperate moments. Power Gems are created when you match a line of four or five gems, but they are best used when you run out of standard matches. If your options have run dry, match a Power Gem to clear a large section of the board, allowing new gems to generate with new possibilities.
