Instructions
Attain a minimum Level 5 character. Locate an Inscription trainer; Inscription trainers are found in every race's capital as well as in Northend and the Hellfire Peninsula. Pay the trainer 10 coppers to begin training as an apprentice.
Bring up your character to Level 10. Locate the Inscription trainer and train to the expert level. Expert level begins at skill Level 20; raise your Inscription skill to 25 through simple tasks such as milling. Glyph slots, used for holding learned glyphs, open at a skill level of 25. Scribes are given one prime slot, one major slot and one minor slot to begin.
Purchase three common inks and one parchment from a merchant; each glyph requires these four items. Locate an Inscription trainer to learn a prime or major glyph. Once learned, glyphs cannot be used up.
Learn minor glyphs through research at a skill level of 75 or higher. Locate an Inscription trainer and learn "Minor Inscription Research." The research has a 20-hour cool down, so players can effectively learn a new minor glyph once a day.
Purchase vanishing powder from an Inscription vendor. Scribes levels 25 through 80 can change or switch out a learned glyph using the powder. Characters above level 80 must purchase dust of disappearance.
