Instructions
Open the Sims 2 Body Shop application by clicking the Windows Start menu, click "All Programs," click "EA Games," click "Sims 2" and click "The Sims 2 Body Shop."
Click "Create Parts," click "Start New Project" and click "Create Clothing."
Select a piece of clothing to edit.
Click the "Export Selected Textures" button in the bottom left. Type a name for the project and click "Accept Project Name." Note the file location on the next screen under "Your textures were saved to:." Keep The Sims 2 Body Shop open and switch to the system's desktop.
Open a graphics editing program such as Microsoft Paint or GIMP.
Click the "File" menu in the graphics editor, click "Open" and navigate to where The Sims 2 Body Shop saved your texture. By default, the location is "My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Projects/my_project_name." Select one of the .bmp files in the folder to open and click "Open." The "body-stdMatBaseTextureName.bmp" file controls the clothing's texture and color. The "body-stdMatBaseTextureName_alpha.bmp" file controls which parts of the clothing are visible. The "body-stdMatNormalMapTextureName.bmp" file controls shapes and bumps on the clothing.
Modify the clothing file using the graphics editor's drawing tools. For example, change the color of the clothing and draw a design on it.
Save your modified clothing file by clicking the "File" menu, then clicking "Save."
Switch back to The Sims 2 Body Shop and click the "Refresh Preview Sim" icon, which looks like a circular arrow in the bottom-left corner of the window. Your modified clothing will now appear on the screen.
Add a comment on the Tool-tip, which will display in the game when you hover over the outfit.
Click the "Import to Game" button in the bottom-left corner. The game will automatically access your modified graphics files. The new clothing will now appear as an option in the Sims 2 game.
