In the game "RuneScape", players can learn Runecrafting among many other skills to strengthen their characters or to employ to make money. Runecrafting is a skill used to create runes, which are required for casting spells in "RuneScape." Thus, Runecrafting is a skill with lots of utility, as it can provide players with the runes they need to cast magic or to sell for money.

Optional Prerequisites
- Having lots of starting capital and high defense, agility, and woodcutting levels will make runecrafting much more convenient and speedy. Air Runes
- Air runes are the only runes that new runecrafters can create. The air rune altar is just west of Varrock, and it is not far from a bank and the Grand Exchange, making it a very convenient rune to craft. Players often purchase thousands of rune essences prior to crafting air runes to quickly raise their runecrafting levels. Runecrafters have also hired other players to bring rune essences for them so that they do not have to go to the bank. This practice is known as rune running.
Fire and Body Runes
- Upon reaching level-14 runecrafting, runecrafters earn the ability to create fire runes. The fire rune altar is just west of the Duel Arena in Al Kharid, but it is relatively far away from a bank. There also tend to be very few, if any, rune runners at the fire rune altar. However, players can continue to craft air runes until level-20 runecrafting, when body runes become available. The body rune altar is at the southwest corner of Edgeville and just west of Barbarian Village. It is very close to the Edgeville bank, making it a great rune to craft for increasing runecrafting levels.
Nature Runes
- Nature runes are especially popular for runecrafters to make because of how lucrative selling them can be. The option of crafting nature runes becomes available at level 44 runecrafting. Many players will craft nature runes from level 44 to 99 runecrafting. The nature altar is northeast of Shilo Village in Karamja.
