Mandatory Power Play
When mandatory power play is selected, go to "Field Select." Set one fielder on the boundary straight back from the bowler at the bowler's end. Place another fielder on the boundary on the right side, to catch a lofted drive from the batsman. Select a fast bowler as the bowler and bowl deliveries level with the batsman's feet. If the delivery sign turns red, indicating your deliveries are predictable, then change the delivery length for one ball. You will be hit for boundaries, but you will get quick wickets as the batsmen are caught out by your two fielders on the boundary.
Run Out
Adjust the bowler's length and swing so that it is short and very wide. When bowled, the ball should reach the fielder at 45 degrees behind the bat on the left side. Bowl the ball at maximum speed. The umpire will declare the ball a no-ball, but the batsman will attempt to run a single anyway and be run out. This trick does not work during the power play and sometimes the batsmen get lucky and get a single run.
Pace Change
Change the pace of the ball when bowling to stop the batsman from getting into a rhythm. If the batsman is always expecting the same paced ball, then throwing in a slower or quicker one can make him mistime the shot and be caught or bowled.
Ball Movement
When using a fast bowler or a spinner, change the direction you are moving the ball off the pitch or in the air. For example, if the batsman is expecting a normal ball moving from right to left, then he will be confused and possibly play the wrong shot if you move the ball in a left to right delivery. This can be done with spin bowlers or fast bowlers who are moving the ball in the air or off the pitch.
