How to Make the Nuke Timer Really Long on MW2

The tactical nuke is a reward in the multiplayer mode of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" for getting 25 kills in a row without dying. The tactical nuke kills all the players on the map and ends the round, regardless of whether or not the match objectives have been completed. Normally, the tactical nuke explodes ten seconds after a player calls it in. This can be changed by editing a configuration file on the computer version of "Modern Warfare 2." Setting the nuke timer to a high value can prevent it from being used. This can be desirable for players who do not want the tactical nuke to be used during matches.

Instructions

    • 1

Close "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" completely.

    • 2

Open the "Players" folder in your "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" directory.

    • 3

Open "config.cfg" in this folder with Notepad.

    • 4

Add "self setClientDvar("scr_nukeTimer", "X" );" to the end of the file. Replace "X" with the number of seconds you want the nuke timer to be.

    • 5

      Save the new config.cfg file.

    • 6

Start "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2." The new nuke timer should be in effect as long as you do not play online multiplayer.
