How Do We Work the Hair Salon in Sims 2: Open Business?

"The Sims 2" features several expansion packs that enhance the capabilities of the game. The "Open for Business" expansion pack offers users the ability to create a business owned and operated by their Sims characters. The hair salon is one of the available businesses in the game, allowing your Sims character to create a new look for other Sims in the game. Your Sims can open this business in their own home or at a commercial location.

Instructions

  Purchase the "Ug-No-More Makeover Station" from the "Buy mode" tab on your dashboard. Place it in the desired location within your home. If you want to choose a commercial site, wait to buy the chair until you purchase the community lot.

  Click on the phone in your Sim's home and click on the "Business" option.

  Choose either "Start Home Business" or "Purchase Community Lot" to establish your business. "Start Home Business" creates the salon in your home, while "Purchase Community Lot" sets up a commercial lot business.

  Purchase an "Open/Closed" sign from the "Buy mode" tab and hang it near your styling chair.

  Click on the "Open/Closed" sign to open your hair salon. When your business is open, patrons will arrive randomly until you click on the sign to close your business.

  Talk to customers as they come in to help convince them to get a makeover. When your business is open, visitors to your lot have special sales choices for conversations. Sell yourself to the Sims and offer discounts and freebies to gain customers. The more happy customers you have, the more business you will receive.

  Click on a customer that sits in the chair to give him a makeover. You can choose the hair and makeup for the customer. However, it may not always turn out, especially when you are first starting.
