How to Get to Maelstrom in World of Warcraft

Threatening to pull in all of Azeroth, the Maelstrom sits between Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms in "World of Warcraft." The enormous whirlpool leads to an area of the world where Deepholm and the two goblin islands exist. The previous Warchief of the horde, Thrall, will lend you a gryphon to take you into the heart of the Maelstrom. You must be at least level 82 to enter the Maelstrom.

Instructions

- 1
  Go to Stormwind City if you̵7;re alliance or Orgrimmar if you̵7;re horde. Summon your flying mount.

  Right-click the "Hero̵7;s Call Board" near the Stormwind auction house or the Warchief̵7;s Command Board outside of Grommash Hold in Orgrimmar. Accept the Deepholm quest.

  Press ̶0;M̶1; to view a detailed map of the city. If you̵7;re in Stormwind, look at the northeast corner of the map to see an island with four pillars. Fly to that island. If you̵7;re in Orgrimmar, look to the north to see the symbol of four pillars and fly to that location.

  Jump off your flying mount once you reach your destination. You will see various portals to distant lands. Turn in the Deepholm quest to the computer-controlled character with a question mark over his head. Accept the Maelstrom quest.

  Enter the portal that appears after accepting the quest. You will appear next to Thrall at the location of the Maelstrom. Talk to Thrall to complete the Maelstrom quest. Accept the next quest Thrall gives you.

  Right-click the gryphon near thrall. The gryphon will take you into the Maelstrom and drop you off in Deepholm.

  You will see multiple portals leading to various lands that were born from the Cataclysm. Walk up to the purple portal. Right-click the portal to enter Deepholm inside the Maelstrom.
