How to Make a Game in Starcraft Editor

"Starcraft" is a real-time strategy (RTS) game for the PC, and is often considered among the best in its genre. While campaign and multi-player modes can keep fans entertained endlessly, dedicated gamers can use the Starcraft Campaign Editor to make more levels and scenarios to play through. The Campaign Editor program comes with the game, and makes a map available to play immediately after it is saved.

Instructions

    • 1

Access the Start Menu, and expand the "Programs" menu to view your downloaded programs.

    • 2

Scroll over "Starcraft," allow its menu to open, and click "Starcraft Campaign Editor."

    • 3

Choose the "New" option from the "File" menu to load a new map, then select a terrain type, ranging from jungle and desert to grasslands or space installations. The default map that loads with the program uses the "Badlands" tile-set, which may not be to your liking.

    • 4

Select "Start Location" under the "Player 1" tab on the left side of the interface, and set the location down on the map. This is where Player 1 will start when playing the map.

    • 5

Place a starting location for at least one more player somewhere else on the map. It is better to distance the points apart, so that players aren't pressured to fight each other early, since most players prefer to build up a base and develop their militaries before engaging in battle.

    • 6

Select "Save" from the "File" menu to create the map.
