How to Get New Mounts on Red Dead Redemption

The video game "Red Dead Redemption," released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, is set in the Wild West era of U.S. history. In the single player portion of the game, you are given your mount near the beginning of the game and always have one available. However, in multiplayer, you must earn new mounts. These mounts are not just limited to horses: You can unlock donkeys, bulls and even a buffalo. You can unlock new mounts in the multiplayer portion of "Red Dead Redemption" by gaining new levels.

Instructions

  Select "Multiplayer" from the "Red Dead Redemption" main menu.

  Gain experience by killing other players, completing challenges, winning team games and completing objectives such as clearing out all enemies from a gang hideout.

  Increase in rank by earning enough experience. Each rank requires more experience than the previous one, and the amount of experience necessary for each rank is viewable on the pause menu.

  Unlock new mounts when a specific rank is reached. For example, unlock the Lustiano Nag mount at "Rank 4," and the American Standardbred at "Rank 40."

  Select "Outfitter" from the pause menu to change your mount at any time during a multiplayer game.
