How to Get Through the Mysterious Door on The Sims 2

In the "Sims 2: Apartment Life" game, your playable characters have many different apartments to choose from. Each one has a building full of potential new friends and love interests while providing new complications such as noise issues. Some of these apartments have hidden rooms that are accessed by a bookcase door. Not all of these have the special bookcase door, but the door can be added to a new apartment during the build mode.

Instructions

Build

  Select the location for the apartment.

  Enter "Buy Mode" and search under "Hobbies" then, "Knowledge" to find the "Very Mysterious Shelving."

  Purchase the bookshelf for 1,200 Simoleons and place it against an empty wall that has nothing on the backside of it.

  Purchase another "Very Mysterious Shelving" unit and place that unit on the other side of the wall behind the first unit. They need to be back to back on the wall to make a passage way.
Rent
- 5
  Rent an apartment that has the bookshelf already placed, or purchase the shelving before your playable characters move in. Place the shelving according to the steps in Section 1.

  Instruct your character to walk to the book shelf and choose "Read" from the option menu.

  Select the "Mysteriously Mysterious Mystery Novel" from the menu and the character will walk through the bookshelf.
