How to Make a Wooden Axe in Minecraft

In "Minecraft," an independently developed computer game from 2009, the most important tool in your arsenal after the pickaxe is the axe. You can craft an axe out of numerous different materials, such as iron, stone or diamond. A wooden axe is the weakest axe you can craft, but it is available very early on in the game, even when you have not yet mined into the earth.

  Obtain wooden logs. Chop down trees to get wooden logs, which you can craft into wooden planks and sticks. One tree is sufficient to craft a single wooden axe. You do not need an axe to chop down the tree.

  Right-click any crafting table to open a crafting grid. Place one wooden log into any square to craft four wooden planks.

  Place one wooden plank anywhere in the crafting grid to craft four sticks.

  Fill the center column of your grid with wooden sticks. Place a wooden plank on the first square of the first column to craft a wooden axe.
