How to Start Diablo on Hell Mode

Blizzard Entertainment's classic 1996 hack-and-slash role-playing game, "Diablo," follows the player's journey as he battles through 16 progressive dungeons on a quest to defeat Diablo and his minions. While "Diablo" has only one initially-accessible difficulty level, players can unlock the bonus "Nightmare" and "Hell" levels after reaching specific milestones in the game's multiplayer campaign. Enabling the "Hell" difficulty, the most daunting of the difficulty levels, significantly augments the attack power, level, and health of enemy mobs, offering players new challenges and demanding a more strategic approach to combat than the game's "Normal" and "Nightmare" campaigns.

Instructions

    • 1

Complete quests and defeat enemies in a "Diablo" multiplayer campaign of any difficulty level until your character has reached level 30 to unlock the "Hell" option.

    • 2

Press "Esc" to bring up the game's main menu. Click on the "Options" button to change your campaign settings.

    • 3

Select "Hell" as the difficulty level to enable Hell mode in your current campaign. Hell mode will remain enabled for the duration of the campaign or until you further modify the difficulty settings. Click the "Multiplayer" button in the game's main menu and select the Hell Difficulty after exiting your current game to begin a new "Hell" campaign.
