How to Get Your Sims to Do a DNA Experiment

In "The Sims 3" your characters can navigate through multiple ranks of various careers. Characters that enter the law enforcement field can eventually conduct forensic analysis experiments, examining DNA samples from crime scenes or suspects to earn money. Players must work through the entire law enforcement career track to reach the tenth level of the forensics branch, the "Dynamic DNA Profiler." Characters who work as Dynamic DNA Profilers go to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Characters earn a minimum weekly income of approximately $8,000.

Instructions

Go to the computer or collect the newspaper in front of the family home. Accept a career in the law enforcement track. Use a telescope or chess set to build the logic skill, or paint to raise the painting skill. Characters can also take classes for those two skills in town. Keep your Sim in a good mood by providing for all of its needs.

Send the Sim to work regularly and on time. Click on the drop-down menu for the "Work" icon in your Sim's queue. Select "Chat with Partner" to build your Sim's relationship with a work partner. Off-hours, click on the garbage cans of other homes and select "Rummage." Alternatively, speak to other Sims and use the "Question" social interaction, found under the "Friendly" menu. Use the computer to type a report on the Sim. These measures ensure your chances of getting promoted to Dynamic DNA Profiler.

Select the "Law Enforcement Forensics Branch" when you receive a promotion to Level 6 of the Law Enforcement career track. Continue to work until you reach Level 10 of the Forensics Branch. Click on any computer and choose the "Forensic Analysis" option. The Sim will spend approximately three hours conducting forensic analysis experiments. This action raises a Sim's logic skill and earns the character approximately $600 for each forensic analysis conducted.
