How to Dual Box in Dungeons and Dragons Online

"Dungeons and Dragons" online is a MMORPG, a massively-multiplayer online role-playing game. Users explore the game world as wizards, fighters, clerics and other character classic "Dungeons and Dragons" character classes, each with its own abilities and advantages. Some MMORPG players use two game accounts to control two different characters at once, a technique known as dual-boxing. Dual-boxers typically play two characters whose skills complement each other, or use a high level character to help level up a new character. "Dungeons and Dragons" online does not lend itself to dual-boxing as well as some games, although players can still try to play multiple characters.

Instructions

  1. Dual-Box Strategies

    • 1

Register for two free Turbine accounts at the "Dungeons and Dragons" online website.

    • 2

Download and install the game onto both computers. Fortunately, "Dungeons and Dragons" online is free to play, so you don't need to purchase two separate copies of the game.

    • 3

Create a character on each account. Dual-boxing usually works best if one character is a resilient melee class (such as a fighter or barbarian) and the second character focuses on healing and distance spells.

    • 4

Practice moving both characters at the same time. Unlike many MMORPG, "Dungeons and Dragons" lacks a follow command, which allows one character to automatically follow another. You'll have to move each character manually.

    • 5

Choose one character to be your main. This should be the character you control most. The other character will be your secondary character. Map your secondary character's most-used commands to a cluster of keys on the second keyboard so you don't have to stretch across the entire keyboard with one hand.

    • 6

Use "Dungeons and Dragons" online's hireling feature to strengthen your party. Each player can hire a single non-player character to complete a quest or dungeon. If you play two characters you can hire two hirelings. Use one hireling to provide your main with healing or combat support and have the other hireling guard your secondary character.
