How to Enter the Maw of the Void in World of Warcraft

The Maw of the Void is a whirlpool in the Darkshore region of "World of Warcraft." Any character can enter the Maw, but traveling through Darkshore can be difficult for any character below Level 12. Once you're inside the Maw, you'll have an opportunity to complete a unique quest that leads to a special achievement tag.

A Level 12 (minimum) Alliance character

Instructions

  Travel to the city of Darnassus. The best way to reach Darkshore is from the Night Elf capitol Darnassus, which is on the continent of Kalimdor. Draenei, Night Elf and Worgen characters start close to Darnassus and can walk to the city. The other races will need to take a boat there from Stormwind Harbor.

  Travel to the town of Lor'danel in Darkshore. Every character is pre-made with access to a flight path that leads directly to Lor'danel. You can fly to Lor'danel by speaking with a flight master within Darnassus.

  Head to the Maw of the Void. The Maw is directly south of Lor'danel. Follow the river until you see a large, swirling pool of water.

  Jump into the Maw of the Void. Landing in the Maw's water will transport you to a special underground area. There are no prerequisites for entering the Maw, as long as you can reach it safely.
