How to Set Gravity in Fallout With a Command

The PC versions of both "Fallout 3" and "Fallout: New Vegas" feature an in-game console for entering cheats, altering certain game mechanics and debugging the games. While there is no console command to alter gravity for nonplayable characters or items within the games, you can alter gravity for your character. With the jump height command, you either raise or lower your character's jump height and change how in-game gravity affects him. Neither the Xbox 360 nor PlayStation 3 versions of the game has an in-game console or this cheat.

Instructions

    • 1

Open "Fallout 3" or "Fallout: New Vegas" as you normally would. Select the save you want to start from once the game loads.

    • 2

Press your keyboard's tilde (~) key to bring up the console. This key is usually located under "Esc" and to the left of "1."

    • 3

Type "setgs fjumpheightmin" and press the space bar. Input the number you would like to set your jump height as, pressing "Enter" to enable the command. The default jump height is 64, so entering a lower number reduces jump height, while entering a higher number makes your character jump higher.
