How to Build Past Five Stories in The Sims 2

"The Sims 2" comes with many options for constructing buildings of varying designs, but the number of levels you can build is capped at five levels. "The Sims 2: University" expansion pack comes enabled with a cheat code you can use to construct buildings higher than five stories.

Instructions

      Go into Build Mode, hold down the "Ctrl"key on your keyboard and hit the "C" key. You should see a small text box with a flashing cursor in the upper, left corner of your screen. Type "setHighestAllowedLevel [10]" and hit the "Enter" key.

      Select the stair tool in the Build Mode control panel, select a set of stairs and place the stairs on a constructed floor. Make sure you have walls built around the floor so the building can support additional levels.

      Click the "Next Floor Up" button on the control panel and lay floor tile down on the second level. Then, select another set of stairs and place it on the floor on the second level. Use the wall tool to construct walls around the second level.

      Continue laying floor tile, placing stairs and constructing walls on each ascending level of your building. Because you entered the cheat code, you will be able to build your building higher than five stories.
