In "The Sims 3" a player takes control of a virtual character called a Sim. They have many needs and desires, and it is up to you to fulfill them. Having a home of his own is one of the most basic needs of a Sim. You can move him into an existing house or create one from scratch. A variety of tools exist for creating a house. The "Wall Tool" enables you to place walls to create the foundation of a house. You can delete a wall if you misplace it or change your mind about its location.

Click the "Build Mode" button.

Click the "Sledgehammer" icon.

Click on the wall you wish to delete. The "Sledgehammer" tool will delete the wall.
