How to Fix an Angry Birds Texture Error

A texture error in the "Angry Birds" computer video game can prevent you from even launching the game. "Angry Birds" is a video game where players must catapult birds to try to topple various structures and get rid of the pigs, which are the birds' enemies. In the computer version of the game, a bug can sometimes corrupt your screen-resolution settings, causing the application to crash during launch and display a "Texture is too large" error message. You can fix that problem by manually editing the game's graphics settings.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Notepad. You can find a shortcut to it in the "Accessories" folder of the Windows Start menu.

    • 2

Click on "File" and select "Open."

    • 3

Navigate to the following folder by using the file browser:

      C:\Program Files\Rovio\Angry Birds

Then double-click on the "config.lua" file to open it in Notepad.

    • 4

Locate the line which contains "Width = XXXX", where XXXX is a numerical value. Replace XXXX with "1024". Then locate the "Height = YYY" line and replace YYY with "600".

    • 5

Click on "File" and select "Save." You should now be able to launch "Angry Birds" again.
