How to Create Items in Baldur's Gate

Rogues

  Choose the "use any item" epic ability at level 18 or above for your rogue in "Baldur's Gate: The Throne of Bhaal."

  Choose the scribe scrolls and alchemy epic abilities, which are unlocked by having learned the "use any item" ability, as you gain additional levels.

  Use the alchemy skill to create one potion after every rest period and the scribe scroll ability to create one scroll. You will receive a scroll or potion randomly selected from a table. These items can be used or sold.

Other Characters

  Complete the stronghold quest on a mage player character in "Baldur's Gate II." Your apprentices will create several items for you as part of a quest chain. Once the quest chain is finished, your apprentice Morul will return and create weekly potions for you.

  Add the gnome mage/thief Jan to your party. After every rest period, use Jan's special ability icon to create five "flasher master bruiser mates," which act as ammunition for Jan's crossbow.

  Use the "Erinne Sling" to create five "bullets +4" each rest period. All characters in the game can use this.

Assembling Items

  Collect pieces of weapons and armor as you explore "Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn" and "Baldur's Gate: Throne of Bhaal" and bring them to NPCs to forge into magical items.

  Bring gold and item components to Cromwell the Dwarf in the Docks district of "Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn." Talk to him, and he will offer to forge the components into magical items.

  Find item components in "Baldur's Gate: Throne of Bhaal" and bring them to Cespenar, the Imp in the Abyssal Fortress. If you talk to Cespenar, he will search your inventory and offer to use components to upgrade items in your inventory or forge new items.
