How to Get a Helicopter in Bad Company 2

In "Battlefield: Bad Company 2," controlling the battlefield is the key to success. Players in the game's rich and diverse multiplayer mode need to use strategy and teamwork, as well as make use of the vehicles at their disposal, to win the match. Given the size of the maps in the game, helicopters are an invaluable tool for capturing spawn points or suppressing enemy troops.

Instructions

    • 1

Begin a multiplayer match on a map that has helicopters available for use. Not every map in the game has access to a helicopter, only certain maps under certain game conditions have such access. Starting a conquest-mode game in Atacama Desert, for instance, will grant each side an attack helicopter for use. In the game's rush mode, you can use transport choppers in the Valparaiso if you are on offense or at Port Valdez if you are on defense. In Isla Innocentes, both sides get access to transport choppers in a rush match.

Reach the helicopter on the map and be the first to enter to pick your spot. Vehicles operate on a first come, first served basis. Whoever is the first to reach the helicopter gets their choice of position in the vehicle. The attack helicopter can seat one pilot and one gunner. Each side has a different transport chopper with different seating capacities. The US Blackhawk can support one pilot, two side gunners and two passengers for a total of five occupants. The RU Hind chopper can seat only four, with a pilot, one gunner and two passengers.

    • 3

Use attack choppers to take out enemy armor and to mark incoming enemy units. In the attack chopper for each team, the pilot is in control of the vehicle's rockets that excel at destroying tanks and other armored vehicles, while the gunner commands the machine guns, which mow down infantry. The gunner can also mark targets and units so that they appear on the map for your whole team to see.

Employ transport choppers to lay down suppressing fire against enemy infantry and to capture strategic points on the map. Transport choppers are lightly armed and are designed to ferry troops around the map. The best way to use transport choppers to your advantage is to quickly move past enemy lines and deploy your passengers to take an enemy camp or to sneak behind enemy units and attack from the rear. Transports can also mark enemy positions to give your team early warning.
