How to Raise the Dead in Baldur's Gate

NPC party members in the "Baldur's Gate" series of games can be resurrected by items, spells or temples. If your player character dies, you will need to reload a saved game. Keep at least one resurrection item in your player character's inventory in case your priest dies.

Instructions

    • 1

Resurrect player characters with the priest spell "Raise Dead" out of combat. For resurrecting in combat, use the priest spell "Resurrection," which brings players back to life with full health. Jaheira can resurrect the dead by using a special druid spell, "Harper's Call," which is similar to the priest's "raise dead" but does minor damage to her.

    • 2

Go to a temple. Select the services menu and click the portrait of the dead character to bring up the resurrection option.

    • 3

Use an item. You can buy resurrection scrolls at temples. Ribald sells a 10-charge rod of resurrection.

    • 4

Use a wizard spell or scroll to cast "stone to flesh" on petrified characters.

    • 5

Reload if all else fails. If an NPC has been disintegrated or drained below level one or suffers too much overkill, it may be impossible to resurrect that NPC.
