The Sims 2 Bon Voyage Won't Install on Windows 7

EA Sports released "The Sims 2" games prior to the release of the Windows 7 operating system. EA Sports does not officially support "The Sims 2" on the newer platform and users report issues with installing it on Windows 7. To add the expansion pack to a newer computer, set Windows to operate in a previous compatible version. Create an admin account if you do not already have administration privileges because you must use the admin account to change the settings of the operating system and game.

Instructions

      Click on the "Start" button, click on "All Programs," then chose the Accessories folder.

      Right-click on the "Command Prompt" program and click "Run as administrator."

      Enable the hidden built-in administrator account by copying and pasting "net user administrator / active:yes" in the command box. Press "Enter."

      Close the Command Prompt. Log off your active Windows user account and log in to the newly created Administrator account by clicking on the icon.

    Set Windows 7 to Run in Previous OS

      Right-click on the icon or installation file for "Sims 2: Bon Voyage." Click "Properties."

      Click the "Compatibility" tab. Tick the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for."

      Use the drop-down box to select a previous operating system. Click "Apply," then "OK." Run "The Sims 2: Bon Voyage" install and follow the instructions.
